Your Bio
Sandy Hammer enjoys looking at things with different eyes and sharing those visions with others. She uses digital imaging technologies to capture and display whatever she finds attractive or intriguing. Landscapes, cityscapes, portraits, travel images.
She has studied with award-winning photographers Tony Sweet, Patrick Keough, Don McGowan, and Bob Grytten and is a member of the Coastal Photo Club.
She has won numerous awards and contests, was awarded Photographer of the Year for the New Bern Camera Club for 2003-2004, and was elected their president for 2004-2005. In the fall of 2006, the New Bern Camera Club and the Oriental Photography Group merged to become the Coastal Photo Club. She was awarded Photographer of the year for the Coastal Photo Club for 2006-2007 and 2007-2008. She currently serves as competition committee chairperson.
Her work has been displayed at many venues including the Bank of the Arts, New Bern, NC, Circle 10 Art Gallery, Oriental, NC, Coastal Art Works, Havelock, NC, and the Carteret Community College, Morehead city, NC, as well as several private businesses in North and South Carolina. She has also published photographs in various local newspapers and magazines and her prints are exhibited in private and corporate collections.
Her darkroom of digital delights is centrally isolated in Craven County, NC and she photographs throughout the world. You may contact her directly at shammer@ec.rr.com.
